Road Construction

Coming to work yesterday, I found road closed signs on the paved county road that brings many visitors to the Arboretum. Although locals are still able to weave their way through the barricades, visitors to the Arboretum should look for a detour.

If you are coming to the Arboretum from Waukee or Des Moines on HWY 6, continue past the now closed R16 N and drive 2 miles to the next right turn, Prospect Avenue.
Travel 2.2 miles on Prospect Ave. to a "T" intersection
Turn left onto 270th St
Soon, after .3 of a mile, turn right onto Palo Place.
Travel 1.3 mile, and after a broad curve, you will be at the Arboretum.

If you find yourself in Dallas Center on Hwy 44, find Kellogg Ave. on the far west side of town. Turn south on Kellogg and drive south to the "T" intersection.
Turn right on Linden St.
Linden St curves to the south and becomes Quinlan Ave.
Follow Quinlen Ave to the next "T" intersection
Turn right on 270th St to the Arboretum
