Have you noticed that there are already yellow leaves in the trees? I know I have. Many of you will be collecting tree leaves during autumn, so I thought we would get an early start on identifying and understanding tree leaves. Do you know the saying how some people can't see the forest for the trees? Well, let's not overlook the trees when we are collecting leaves.
The first step in tree identification is deciding whether a tree is coniferous or deciduous. Then, we need to see if the deciduous tree has a simple leaf or a compound leaf. Sound simple? Get ready for another game of Owl and Crow (the true/false game) to see what we know about these different types of trees.
